August 29 - Romanian Language Day and Independence Day of Moldova

You are invited to join us on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the South Lawn of the Connecticut State Capitol in Hartford (210 Capitol Ave.), for a celebration of Romanian Language Day 📚 and the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova 🇲🇩.
•    🇲🇩 Moldova’s Independence Day (August 27) marks independence from the USSR in 1991.
•    📝 Romanian Language Day (August 31) is a national celebration in Moldova since 1990 and in Romania since 2013.
The event is organized by the Honorary Consulate of Romania to Connecticut 🇷🇴, with support from the Moldovan community in MA & CT, and will feature:
🎤 Remarks by the Honorary Consul and Romanian & Moldovan community leaders
🎵 National Anthems of the U.S. 🇺🇸 and Moldova 🇲🇩
🤝 Remarks by diplomatic, state, and local representatives & community leaders
🎶 Artistic performances by Romanian & Moldovan artists
🍽️ A taste of Romanian & Moldovan cuisine
This is a wonderful opportunity to gather as a community, celebrate our language and traditions, and honor Moldova’s independence 🇲🇩.
