This November, The Honorary Consulate of Romania to Connecticut salutes the initiative by Romanul Corp and the Youth Club CT, and invites you to take part in their Volunteer for a Senior campaign, a community initiative connecting young volunteers with local seniors who need a helping hand: https://romanulonline.org/volunteer-for-a-senior/
As the weather cools and the holidays approach, many older adults in our community face challenges getting groceries, preparing meals, or simply finding companionship. The campaign's goal is simple: to build bridges between generations, foster connection, and ensure that no senior feels isolated this season.
Do you know a senior in the community who would love to be helped with Thanksgiving shopping or fall cleaning? Now is a great time to get involved. And to show that the Romanul Youth Club of CT is involved in the community, wear your Youth Club t-shirt and send us a selfie from the activity at info@theromanian.org.
How It Works
Throughout November, volunteers from across the community will:
• Help seniors with grocery shopping, errands, or small home tasks
• Share time, stories, and warmth through friendly visits or phone check-ins
Romanul Corp will coordinate all matches, provide orientation for volunteers, and ensure that safety and trust remain at the heart of every connection.
If you’re a young person who wants to volunteer, or a senior in need of assistance, please sign up here: 2025 Volunteer for a Senior
