Cristian Gogu is the Executive Assistant to the Honorary Consul and HR Coordinator at the Honorary Consulate of Romania to Connecticut. Leveraging over a decade of diverse research and administrative experience, Cristian supports the Consulate's mission by providing executive assistance, managing events, conducting policy advocacy, and maintaining communication with staff, volunteers, and the Romanian community. His role includes preparing advocacy research and reports on critical issues such as voting rights, pensions, and immigration, as well as drafting consular communications on community events and matters of interest. A skilled researcher with qualitative and quantitative mastery, Cristian has a proven track record of translating legal research into effective policy advocacy initiatives and showcasing the ability to drive social change through public policy. Prior to his role at the Consulate, Cristian's experience includes co-founding Academics Stand Against Poverty (ASAP) Romania, working with ASAP Global to combat extreme poverty, and holding positions at IBM Romania and the Permanent Mission of Romania to the United Nations. Cristian is currently a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Connecticut, with a focus on the structure of US dollar hegemony.
